Ex–dividend date, based upon payment date – datatype (XDD)

The ex-dividend date (also referred to ex-date) stored as a timeseries on the payment date.

The ex-date represents the date the share price is reduced by the amount of the dividend payment.

Where two or more payments are made on the same day but with different ex-dividend dates then this will be indicated by the output 'MULTI-XD'.

Dividend payment announcements are typically forward looking in nature, to ensure any future dividends are captured the request should have a future end date.

Used in a static request the datatype will retrieve the latest dividend information relative to the request date.

Dividend payment information is available in three formats:
  • timeseries datatypes stored on the dividend ex-date
  • timeseries datatypes stored on the dividend payment date
  • composite static datatypes displaying a key set of dividend fields

An annualized dividend per share (DPS) timeseries is also derived using the underlying dividend payment information.
